LOS LUPEÑOS JUVENIL YOUTH DANCE ENSEMBLE

In July, 2015 the Cashion Cultural Legacy officially launched a performing youth ensemble, Los Lupeños Juvenil, created from an Academy class that ran for two years prior.

Dancers in this performing ensemble range from 10 to 15 years old. Los Lupeños Juvenil is taught by Artistic Director Samuel Cortez who rehearses them in a professional environment with special mentoring that prepares them to someday enter the adult company, Los Lupeños de San José. Juvenil dancers rehearse at least twice weekly and are expected to successfully balance this time against their school and family obligations. Just like our adult dance company, there is no participation fee for members of Los Lupeños Juvenil but we ask for dedication, loyalty, and commitment.

Los Lupeños Juvenil can be seen in our annual concerts and community festival, FOLKLOREADA.  They often participate in local events like Pumpkins in the Park, Happy Birthday San José, Tres Vinos, and the Spring Dance Festival. Juvenil dancers have had the opportunity to perform as special guests of sjDANCEco’s production of Roots and Wings and the New Ballet School’s production of the San José Nutcracker.

If you or your organization is interested in a performance by Los Lupeños Juvenil, please fill out our online performance request form either in English or Spanish. We will respond as soon as possible.
